Dale is one of our two youngest artists and has already exhibited in several exhibitions. He is a unique and dedicated artist in the creation of sand paintings. The mix of desert sand and acrylic paint in creating 3D paintings can only be awed. His creations are not only cultural re-creations of traditional images but a new style of Aboriginal painting to the international and national art area.
Dale is a dedicated cultural and spiritual man which is evident in his styles and techniques. The meticulous methods Dale uses in creating his sand paintings take a great deal of time, he spends weeks sometimes months working on his creations. The result is a perfect piece of 3 dimensional Aboriginal art brought to life from his Dreamings and stories told to him by his family that have been passed down from his ancestors. To our knowledge Dale is the only Aboriginal artist to create these masterpieces. He is along with Nganuwaay Koolyn the rising stars in our gallery. As well as sand paintings Dale is also an accomplished artist in the medium of acrylic, the energy he brings to his paintings is a refreshing style. He is also becoming an accomplished singer, didjeridoo and guitar player, and a teacher of the didjeridoo. He regularly holds didj classes at the gallery. Dale is a very tolerant, and calming spirit in his teaching of the didjeridoo and an excellent player.
